In the 1800's the West was wild as hell.
Following an Apache raid of their village, a vengeful group of Navajo warriors went out searching. Legend says when the Indians returned, having no luck locating the perpetrators, they found there homes to be even further raided. The only three survivors were young women who had been taken as prisoners.
Scouts were sent out to scour the land for any trace of the missing women or the Apaches who had seemingly vanished into thin air. Twice.
Hunters were surprised to hear voices coming from the ground and smell the musk of fire. Soon the Navajos had found their enemies had ridden their horses into caves and crevices hidden by the terrain.
Two Apache lookouts were quickly captured and the rest were blockaded in their tombs. With the only conscious of the Navajo warriors to find their missing women, their worst fears were quickly confirmed: the Women had already been tortured to their deaths.
An effective extermination was in order and the Apaches quickly built a wall enclosing their enemies. Anything flammable was found to toss into the opening crevice where the Apache's lay in wait. Dry grasses and wood from the sparse foliage were set afire and the chimney effect suffocated and scorched the White Mountain Apache tribesmen much like a wild forest fire creeps up a canyon's wall with the winds force.
The legend of the Death Cave kept people coming back with campgrounds, gas stations and tourist attractions until an interstate bypass took it off the beaten path.
I ain't tryin to blow out spots, but new ones (or new to you) are out there, so keep your eyes open next time you pass a seemingly empty highway exit. There's a road there for a reason.

I don't know how these guys get into this stuff. But somehow Los and the rest of the Tragic guys while on their trip weaseled their way onto
Rick Thorne's Radio Show Their interview starts at about the four minute mark. So you don't have to listen to the stuff before it then a song and a little more of the interview. The best part of the interview is the first pro's name out of Thorne's mouth is Danny Williams. Your big time now Danny! Thanks for the SWBMX shout out Adam. Next time you see Los let him know that his Rockstar status is stuck on 9.
i read about a week ago that dave had been having some stomach problems and finally went to get things checked out and that he had a ulcer and a 7inch ( thats bigger than a softball!) tumor in his stomach that he had to get removed. i had briefly talked to drew , and asked about dave.. he said it seemed like everything was good. but today i read this ..
Smoker Dave's wife just posted an update on his health on Myspace:
Davey, is diagnosed with lymphoma cancer. We’re still waiting for result to see if it spread throughout his bones. The cancer isn’t life threatening and is treatable, so that’s good news. He just got surgery yesterday to remove 7” (that’s right Jimmy James, I said 7 inches) of his small intestines which were clogged with lymphoma. He’s seems to be doing OK, but then again he’s heavily drugged up. Right now he’s going through chemotherapy to shrink his tumor. Hopefully everything goes as the doctors have planned because I really do miss him here at home.
i have some experience w/ this disease. ( my father had it, but he didnt catch it til waay further down the road and it was much worse) and i know first hand how bad chemo is on the body. soo i wish dave the best of luck. be strong , stay positive, and know that the whole phx scene has your back, and youll be back to shredding in no time !
From what I understand some of them were more concerned about getting some BBQ than ridin. But its all good.
Thanks Vital
I know KC said a while back that Josh Betly has won the award for most internet coverage this year. Well, he wasn't joking. I found
this Washigton Post article with him in it. Yes, I said Washigton Post.
Lucas Porzio, he somehow jumped on the trip the night before we left, I was super stoked cuz hes an awsome dude. unfortunately he left the T.C. trip early cuz he had to have knee surgery on Wesnesday. I hope he's doing well and I cant wait to see that mofo back on his bike in FULL THROTTLE mode. He gained like 9 nick names so next time you see him ask him how Sheep Hills is.....
Anyone notice who he looks like now? (Cough, Taj, Cough)
LUCAS SHREADS!!!!!
