i originally grabbed this video to put on a fixie message board to show that there are bikes made for the tricks they try and emulate. ( and because matthias is bad ass) but i feel like flatland gets overlooked alot, and that its wierd because everyone wants to be a flatlander lately ( nosemanuals and hang 5 stuff) just watch this video and see how absolutely amazing flat can be
this kid is 16 and won nora cup last year for best flatlander.. for good reason
The next big thing, Frank Parks....

i get alot of questions about what i did when i interned at odyssey last summer, mostly i helped out w/ the 2008 catalog, which you can now view at the new odyssey site odyssey, along with various other jobs, i made the diarama boxes for the product to go into for the catalog, the premise behind the boxes is that they were to be the exact size ( or in some cases w/ bars and forks scaled slightly larger) as the actual page size, so that it was as photoshop free as possible ( aside from type) so if you havnt seen the catalog yet, you can now view the entire thing, as well as lots of other cool new things on the site.
check it out.
mike hines down in T town sent me this..
On August 8-10 the first ever ABA Southwest Nationals are being held indoors at the Tucson Community Center in downtown Tucson. A bunch of us Tucson locals are getting memberships and will be racing, we're calling it: the washed up/never was/has been race. Everyone is entering in the 19-27 inter. class and it should be quite a race. We posted a big thing about it on clickedbmx. com
I was wondering if you could spread the word to some of the guys in the phx area and I wanted to know if you were at all interested in coming down and doing some gate starts.
-mike
sooooo litecky.. im tryin to see you bring home another tall ass trophy..
heres the video seth was talking about. goes w/ the story in the new ride magazine. and to mike hines.. it is all phx stuff because over the winter tons of people came through and filmed in phx area. and jeff Z was on a few of those trips, had some left over photos and instead of running a story on AZ w/ no AZ locals he came out for a weekend ( when it seemed alot of people werent around) and shot a few photos of some locals to go along w/ the non locals he already had photos of.. the story isnt a scene report ( obviously since it has 5 of us riding, and there are 24039843 kids that shred here ) just a little recognition to the state and phx i guess...
Get on this shit. If you were around when this was going on a few years ago you know how fun it is. In the words of C-Los "Do like butter on bread and spread this shit!!!"
-Ride has a new website with an Arizona video on there. Its has some good stuff on the video and a few things that were done down town that I never thought I'd see.
-The new Tempe BMX/Skatepark is still not open as of Thursday when a couple of guys went to ride it. They heard the fence was down. But when they got there, the fence was up and the park maintenance guys were sealing cracks the concrete. Hopefully it will be open soon.
Frank has a Primo Mix Cassette complete rear wheel with no missing spokes that was just trued, for sale for 80 bucks. He is also selling a brand new, never used, pair of Black ODSY Wombolts, also for 80 bucks. Frank needs to live so buy this stuff off him. You can't beat $80, especially since cranks and every other bike part are such a god damn rip off nowadays. Call him or email him. ditchallday@tmail.com (sidekicklife). 831.521.5630.
My long time friend Ryan Letcher just recently opened up a new bike shop in Lake Havasu. I figured since he is living the dream that many bmx kids have of owning there own shop, it would be fun to get his thoughts on it.
Name of shop: Savage Bikes
How long has the shop been open? one month.
How is life having a daughter, opening a shop, and riding? It is really stressful, and riding is very painful at times, especially when you break limbs.
What made you move out to Havasu to open up your shop? To help out the deprived scene.
With your bike shop only being a BMX shop are you ever going to sale Mountain Bikes? Yeah, I hope to be getting them sometime in the near future.
When is the Pat Tinnell memorial skate park going to open up? When donations have reached up to $250,000. You can send donations to http://www.myspace.com/tinnellmemorial.
Are you still representing the FBI squad? Yes, i've been repping FBI for 15 years straight son!!!
How is business going? Its slow but steady, so fucking man up and buy some shit.

Final words:
"Ride to live, live to ride, and dont be a pussy and fling your tricks to flat bottom."
